Fire and Ice - 3 on 3

Hello hockey players, family and fans!  The Mosinee Hockey Development Committee is excited to continue the 3-on-3 tournament for the 2019-2020 hockey season.  This is different than the 3-on-3 tournaments that you are used to, featuring fast-paced, exciting, full ice action.  The idea behind the full ice format is to allow players to utilize the open areas of the ice while allowing them to get into peak shape for the upcoming season.

Each team will be made up of 6 players and a goalie.  The games will be two 15 minute run-time periods.  There are no face-offs to allow the pace of the game to remain high (see rules).  Teams will be randomly chosen to allow equal ice time and skill levels across teams.

Registration is only $15 per player (register by October 14th) and ages from squirt to high school are welcome.  We hope to see you the weekend of October 19th & 20th and wish you luck on your upcoming seasons.

Online Registration is now open!

Summer Hockey Development

Hello Mosinee Hockey Families,

It’s that time of year again to start our Mosinee Summer Hockey Development Program. Unfortunately, we will not have summer ice at Greenheck nor will we have dryland training available at the rec center. We are looking into  new “dryland” opportunities for our skaters this summer. Great news is we are still offering our annual puck shooting challenge this summer!

Puck Shooting Challenge

From now until October 1st, mite - aged skaters can complete the challenge by shooting 5000 pucks.  Squirts through bantams can complete the challenge by shooting 10,000 pucks, don’t forget to include plenty of back hand shots too.

To get started, print the Puck Shooting Log to track progress. The PDF is located below. The completed form can be turned into Travis Michalski when you are finished.

Any skater who shoots their number of pucks will be awarded a prize and earn their spot in the Mosinee Puck Shooting Club. Also, after tryouts every year, those who have completed the challenge, will compete for a grand prize in an end – of - summer shooting contest at our dryland area.

Like last year, we hope to hand out a lot T-Shirts and shooting prizes this fall. Have a great summer and we will see you at the rink!

Thank You,

Travis Michalski and the Hockey Development Committee
