Join us for our first ever Bucks for Pucks Bean Bag Tournament
and city celebration! There will be up to a 50% payout to the top
We have a lot in store - food, raffles, prizes, kids games – and a very special appearance from the Mosinee Fire Department. It will be fun for the entire family!
Don’t miss out on your chance to participate in the AROW Global Coaches Challenge, a GIANT bean bag toss that will be happening throughout the day. Any coach from any sport will be able to participate.
Money raised at the Bucks for Pucks Bean Bag Tournament will provide funds for the rink floor, as well as fund additional equipment, student scholarships and facility improvements needed at the Rec Center to maintain our high-quality facility and programs. Facility improvements are critical to maintain high levels of utilization of the Mosinee Rec Center, which helps to support local business and tourism.

This summer, we will be continuing with our 3rd annual Summer Hockey Development Program. Like past years, we will have ice sessions at the Greenheck Fieldhouse and dryland training at our rink. We will be working on drills that will improve our skaters speed, quickness and agility. The techniques and dryland drills can also be done at home. We will also continue with our second annual puck shooting challenge.
Ice and Dryland Sessions
We will have 5 dryland training sessions and 5 ice sessions this summer. Skaters need to sign-in so we can keep track of sessions. Ice sessions will be $10/skate to cover ice fees, please pay at the beginning of the session. Dryland will be free. Any skater who attends 8 out of 10 sessions will receive a cool T- Shirt for their efforts, compliments of the Hockey Development Committee. The schedule is below.
Puck Shooting Challenge
Starting June 1st until October 1st, mite - aged skaters can complete the challenge by shooting 5000 pucks. Squirts through bantams can complete the challenge by shooting 10,000 pucks, don’t forget to include plenty of back hand shots too.
To get started, print the Puck Shooting Log to track progress. The completed form can be turned into Chad Ellis, when you are finished.
Any skater who shoots their number of pucks will awarded a prize and earn their spot in the Mosinee Puck Shooting Club. Also after tryouts every year, those who have completed the challenge, will compete for a grand prize in an end – of - summer shooting contest at our dryland area.
Like last year, we hope to hand out a lot T-Shirts and shooting prizes at the end of the summer. Have a great summer and we will see you at the rink!
