There will be four ice times available for girls. These are open to all girls, wether they plan on playing with Mosinee or the Storm this season. It is a good opportunity to get back on the ice before the season and make some new friends. There is no charge for this ice time. All ice times are at Greenheck.
It’s that time of year again to start our Mosinee Summer Hockey Development Program. Like past years, we will have ice sessions at the Greenheck Fieldhouse, but we will not be having dryland training. Our ice sessions will have a small area game foundation, but will be primarily supervised sticks and pucks. We will also continue with our annual puck shooting challenge.
We will have 7 ice sessions this summer. Skaters need to sign-in so we can keep track of sessions. Ice sessions will be $10/skate to cover ice fees, please pay at the beginning of the session. Any skater who attends 5 out of 7 sessions will receive a cool T- Shirt for their efforts, compliments of the Hockey Development Committee. The remaining schedule is below.
UPDATE: The remaining ice sessions will be all ages for the full hour and 50 minutes. Still only $10. Come and stay the whole time, or come for part. All are welcome.
All Ages: 5pm – 6:50pm
From now until October 1st, mite - aged skaters can complete the challenge by shooting 5000 pucks. Squirts through bantams can complete the challenge by shooting 10,000 pucks, don’t forget to include plenty of back hand shots too.
To get started, print the attached Puck Shooting Log to track progress. The completed form can be turned into me, Chad Ellis, when you are finished.
Any skater who shoots their number of pucks will awarded a prize and earn their spot in the Mosinee Puck Shooting Club. Also after tryouts every year, those who have completed the challenge, will compete for a grand prize in an end – of - summer shooting contest at our dryland area.
Like last year, we hope to hand out a lot T-Shirts and shooting prizes this fall. Have a great summer and we will see you at the rink!
Mosinee Hockey Club will have ice rental available October 2018. If interested, please contact our rink manager, Steve Hagman at 715-551-4049.
